The Local Arrangements person is the key logistical person for ICASSP. Knowledge about the hotel room demand, what types of audio and visual equipment were needed in each session, the sizes of each of the lecture and poster session rooms (and whether or not they were adequate), etc. is necessary for planning. The local arrangements reports submitted to be included in the ICASSP reports to the Conference Board should contain as much of this information as possible. Local Arrangements Chairpersons are understandably exhausted once ICASSP ends, but please supply the information for your successor. Include comments and suggestions for improvement. The ICASSP hotels will keep track of the the total room nights. If a convention center is used, usually the convention bureau will keep records from all surrounding hotels. Report this information since it is necessary for the Society to contract with the next few ICASSP sites. Statistics for a few ICASSPs are included in Appendix E. Send copies of your reports, the room usage, and other statistics to the Local Arrangements Chairpersons of the next few ICASSPs.
