6.9 DEVELOPING THE TECHNICAL PROGRAM

In the SP Society, the Technical Committees have traditionally had the final say on the acceptance of all papers. The General Chairperson should verify that the Technical Program Committee coordinates its efforts with the Technical Committees, so that embarrassing misunderstandings are avoided.

The General Chairperson should work with the Technical Program Committee in developing the theme, if any, for an ICASSP. The General Chairperson should remind the Technical Program Committee of the tools available for setting the tone, including invited sessions, plenary sessions, and tutorials.
