Once the sessions are organized, the next task is to select Session Chairpersons. It is important to choose people active in the field. The Session Chairpersons often provide a story line to sessions that would otherwise be a disconnected series of papers. Advice on the choice of Session Chairpersons, should be solicited at the paper review meetings of the SP Technical Committees.
Educating the Session Chairpersons is also the responsibility of the Technical Program Committee. Technical program standards are to be followed. Presentation standards are in Appendix A of this manual. Typical instructions to Session Chairpersons are given in Appendix B.
