The Technical Program Chairperson and the Technical Committees shall jointly be responsible for the Technical Program of an ICASSP. The program shall adequately represent the current technical interests of the Society. The Chairperson and Committees are expected to cooperate and consult with each other and to resolve disagreements by negotiation.
The Technical Program Chairperson organizes the Technical Program for the Society's annual International Conference. The Chairperson shall assemble a program which reflects traditional technical interests of the Society and incorporates new developments within the areas of Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing.
The Technical Committees of the Society represent and promote the Society's major technical areas and serve as authorities on technical matters within these areas. They also maintain continuity and technical standards. Each Technical Committee shall respond to the request of the Technical Program Chairperson regarding the five acitivites listed below, in a timely fashion, consistent with the established conference schedule.
