Previous: 8.12.7 Conference Board
The Technical Program Committee of an ICASSP receives many more
abstracts than can be accommodated in the ICASSP program or
proceedings. To provide all members the opportunity to present their
work, the ASSP Society has adopted the following guidelines for paper
selection.
- 1.
-
The primary criteria for the selection or rejection of papers for
the annual conference shall be the technical merit of the reported
work and the expected benefit to the members of the Society of having
such a report presented and published. This shall be determined by an
evaluation of the abstract and of answers to the background questions
posed on the Call-For-Papers.
- 2.
-
Rejections may be made only after review by two or more members of
the refereeing committee.
- 3.
-
Authors are discouraged from submitting more than one paper as
first author.
- 4.
-
There is to be a one-year moratorium on the acceptance of papers
from authors who, having been accepted and scheduled on the program,
fail to complete the preparation and presentation of their papers.
This provision may be waived by the committee under exceptional
circumstances.
- 5.
-
Papers may be rejected without review if they are received after
the official cutoff date, or do not have all the questions answered
completely.
Reviewing committees should adopt additional criteria and procedures
which will advance the objectives stated above and publicize them in
the Call-for-Papers.
